2004 National 2nd best farmer, Nana Kwaku Siaw who happens to be the CEO of Kumah Farms and Training Center and also the Nkosuohene of Anwonmaso Traditional Area has lamented that, all Farmers really appreciate the famers day celebration by the Government and it is good for the people of our country and around the world to know how important Farmers are to the society.

According to Nana Siaw, the Government is doing well to develop the agricultural sector but there is proper measures for farmers, they are still facing a lot of challenges which need to be address on which include: Loans from the Bank to support their work, Tools & equipment ,No Storage facilities, No Processing Center , the importing Foodstuffs into the country and many more which is not encourage people to involved themselves in the the agric sector.

He also added that, the Ministry of Agriculture have to stop importing Foodstuffs into our country and support the famers to make our own foods attractive especially “Rice ” we can use our local rice to feed our school children but they use to reject ours and import some from outside.

Speaking to press, he urged the government to support farmers to expand our own farming product because farming is the backbone of our dear lovely Country Ghana.

He therefore urged the farmers to come together so that they can achieved their aim.
